PowerPC is a revolutionary new technology that will come out in the first half of 1994. PowerPC is the results of an amazing Apple/IBM agreement that took place in the summer of 1991. This agreement let Apple use a modified version of the IBM RS 6000 chip in exchange for a help creationg a new operating system code named "Pink" IBM and Apple created Kaleida and Taligent, two companies that will be working on these technologies. Apple and IBM brought Moterola into the deal by haveing Moterola manufacture the PowerPC chips.
Taligent
Taligent will be the company involved in designing a new object oriented system for the future that will not only be very powerful but yet retain the ease of use that the Macintosh has become famous for. Taligent will release the product for PowerPC and then might consider invading other platforms.
Kalieda
Kalieda will be offering a multimedia programming language. This language is called scriptx Kalieda hopes that it will become the standard language for computers. Kalieda has signed an agreement with Moterola and Scientific-Atlanta to deliver interactive multimedia to home users.
Kalieda will be offering it's Scriptx technology. Moterola will be providing the coalition with PowerPC chips to run the interative boxes with and Scientific-Atlanta will be manufactureing the final product.
